The flora
The woods of Treglia contribute to the landscape's embellishment. They are important from economic viewpoint and they offer zones of silence,
peace and coolnees to the holidaymakers that live in metropolitan environments.
Besides the private woods, the most important State woods are in the following
localities: "Carpini Luonghi", "Serra Longa", "Lenza Longa (Coste)", "Campole", "Ciesco Gatto", "Serra" e "Sant'Erasmo".
Walking in these woods is very pleasant; in the autumnal period you can provide oneself with a large wicker basket to pick the mushrooms as the
boletus, the golden agaric, the honey agaric and others picked by expert persons.
Moreover, you can pick the arbutus, the wood strawberries, the wild apples,
the hazel, the wild pears, the sorb, the wild medlars and many more fruit.
By this fruit we prepare tasty recipes, the jam, the spirits and the sirups. The "Campole" zone is famous because there are secular chestnut woods.
The Treglia's woods are constituted principally by the following vegetable kinds: the ilex, the oak, the Turkey oak, the ash, the hornbeam, the manna ash, the maple and the
chestnut. Moreover there are the arbutus, the cornel and others trees that yield the quoted fruit.
